Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport

Situated 14 miles from the French capital, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport also known as Roissy Airport is the bigger of the two Paris airports. Last year, the airport dealt with more than 61 million passengers, and handled round about 5,00,000 airplanes movements, thereby making it the 2nd busiest airport (only next to Heathrow) in Europe, and 7th busiest in the world in terms of passengers served.

The Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is connected to the French capital and other places around. With taxis, limos and RATP buses operating in good numbers, getting to and out of the airport is as easy as it gets.

History

The building was planned in a circular avant-garde style, a style heavily attributed to French artists. Originally referred to as the Paris North Airport, the name was changed to Charles de Gaulle by the time it opened in 1974.
